The Satsuma Koshirae is one of the only Iaito made in Japan which is available in such extreme length options, from 2.80 to 3.00 Shaku!

Customisation options are available, but more limited due to the nature of this model, normal size fittings just won’t fit these gargantuan swords. The 1.1 Shaku Tsuka features extra large hilt fittings with a Kumo (cloud) theme, a motif associated as the home of the gods, spirits and dragons. This Tsuka also features a black lacquered leather insert in place of the more typical Same (rayskin).

Housing a double grooved blade to reduce overall weight, the individually crafted Saya feature a special black Tate Nuri finish, a special kind of Ishime (matt) lacquer. This model also features a special square Tsuba with light file mark design which is unique to this specialist model.
