This 102cm Shindo Ryu Bokuto is a unique model from an ancient Koryu which is a great alternative to a standard Bokken for Kendo Kata or Aikido practice.
Crafted from Shiro Kashi, the traditional Japanese white oak favoured for its ideal balance between strength and flexibility, these Shindo Ryu Daito have a straight consistent grain and beautiful natural finish.
Suitable for both solo Suburi and partner work incorporating contact practices, the Shindo Ryu Bokken has similar proportions to a standard Bokken in length and bulk, and can also carry a Tsuba.
Shindo Ryu Bokken feature a shallower Sori than a standard Daito, with a straighter blade with less curvature. This Bokuto also features a chevron shaped, Shinken style, Mune, mimicking the spine of a real sword blade.
